This embroidery backing will add dimension to your embroidery. Each sheet is 12" x 18"s.
Colors available: White, Black, Red, Navy, Forest, Purple, Royal, Yellow, Beige, Orange, Gray, Tan
Works well with polyester thread, rayon thread, any Madeira embroidery thread or sulky embroidery thread. Will also work with many different embroidery bobbins.
Creating Puffy Digitizing
1. Establish appropriate embroidery settings.
Run Stitch length = 1mmSatin density = 2.0 - 2.5 (the heavy density cuts and covers the foam)
Stretchʼ (pull compensation) @ 5 - 15% (depending on size of element).
2. With a running stitch, create an outline of the shape to be embroidered in 3-D (the short stitch length cuts the foam).
3. Create “end-caps” where needed. i.e. (ʻendsʼ of shape where stitches would not typically cover the foam).
Tip: If using ‘keyboard lettering’ (to create 3-D text) move stitches- one-at-a-time, if necessary to prevent any/all center stitches that would lay down the foam.
Stitching with 3-D E-Zee Foam
Stitch underlay or outline stitches prior to laying down the 3D foam.
1. Tape a piece of foam large enough to cover 3-D element size, inside hoop. Foam color should be similar to the thread color used.
2. Stitch all of 3-D element.
3. Remove foam from finished, stitched design. Foam will pull away easily.
4. Design has great loft or three dimensional effect.
Tip: Use hair dryer to shrink foam if any is poking out.
Embroidery puffy foam is non-toxic, water-resistant and machine washable, but it is flammable and cannot be dry-cleaned.
